Our Audit Process
Your Lighting Audit is an onsite "walk through" of your facility where our qualified Field Assessor documents your current lighting conditions to identify where energy savings can be made by retrofitting to LED technology. This includes interior and exterior spaces and involves collecting four main types of information:
General Information
General information includes floor plans and ceiling plans that show current fixture locations. Room dimensions as well as ceiling heights are also documented. Future plans for renovation are also considered.Lighting Information for each area being considered is collected such as...
Points of Interest
- Number of fixtures
- Type and size of fixtures
- Number of lamps per fixture or ballast
- Fixture wattage
- Hours of operation - Burn Rate
- Existing controls, sensors etc
Occupation Information
It is very important to understand how occupants feel about their current lighting system, as their insight will provide valuable information to compliment the data collected by the physical inspection. Brief interviews are conducted with your Team members to learn how the current lighting configuration affects them and their performance.
Financial Information
Once your physical space data and Team member responses are documented, we use your current electricity consumption to create a model of what your projected savings will be when retrofitting to LED lights. This data (KWHs and Demand KV) is gathered from your electricity bills – one from a winter month and one from a summer month to reveal your consumption pattern.
Engineering Summary Report
Using the information gathered from your Lighting Audit we enter your data into our proprietary software generating a comprehensive, easy to read “Engineering Summary Report.” This report details Monthly, Annual and a Ten year electricity savings model along with Return On Investment specific to your project. The accuracy of your report is verified by the Independent Electrical System Operator in Ontario who administer the “Save On Energy Retrofit” program.
Your LED retrofit project may qualify for the Save On Energy cash incentives paid directly to you.
There is no charge for this service and you are under no obligation to act upon our recommendations. However, with over 3,500 retrofit projects to date, we are very confident that you will be pleased with your Return on Investment and projected energy savings.
